US Grade 4 - 12

Beginner - Advanced Level

Students will improve spelling performance and more easily identify spelling errors within a text. I want to build confidence in your student and not squash their happiness in writing. Students will improve their knowledge by building a larger vocabulary using Greek & Latin Root words. Class begins with a greeting, instruction using visual models, brief notes that I write along with students in real time, and a game that I have created on Baamboozle. Students will improve their English language knowledge by building a larger vocabulary using Greek & Latin Root words. This further translates into higher achievement in writing scores in the area of conventions and word choice.

I have taught middle and high school English Language Arts for 17 years. I have taught English literature and composition for advanced students preparing for private high schools with even higher aspirations of attending ivy league schools. I have taught at all grade levels from grades 4 through 12. I have tutored adult college students in these areas as well. I have taught students with minimal English and have taught seventh grade students who read at first grade level. I have achieved great success for myself while completing courses in my doctoral program.

Teacher will use Baamboozle to create review games. Merriam Webster.com will be used to show deeper history of word usage. The game will occur on the teacher's screen and will be shared via screenshare within the zoom meeting.  The Merriam Webster website will be shared via screenshare within the zoom meeting. No student account is required.
