Engage in personalized voice lessons for elementary to middle school-aged students, focusing on basic vocal techniques, repertoire development, performance skills, self-analysis, and constructive feedback.

Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Understanding Basic Vocal Techniques: Students will learn and practice fundamental vocal techniques such as breath control, diction, posture, and vowel placement.

Developing a Musical Theatre Repertoire: Students will be exposed to various pieces from the musical theatre genre and will learn to select and perform pieces that suit their vocal range and personal style.

Improving Performance Skills: Students will practice performing their selected pieces, gaining confidence and honing their ability to communicate a character and story through song.

Increasing Self-Analysis and Reflection: Students will develop their ability to critique and improve their own performances. They will learn to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement in their singing.

Applying Feedback: Students will learn to accept and apply constructive feedback to improve their vocal technique and performance.

Practicing Independently: Students will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to practice and improve independently between lessons.

ANGELA KLAWITER:
Angela Klawiter is a recent graduate of Marywood University holding degrees in Theatre and Early Childhood Education. A performer from a young age, Angela has studied and performed under industry experts in acting and musical theatre singing for upwards of 17 years. Although she is a singer and actor at heart, she has also had the opportunity to direct and costume design numerous productions. Additionally, she is a playwright and producer, having had the opportunity to professionally produce her original one-woman show at the Scranton Fringe Festival. Some of her other favorite productions include Sound of Music (Maria), Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator), When We Dead Awaken (Irene), Dancing at Lughnasa (Kate), and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Christopher). Her vocal experience extends to professional recording and solo work as well as recent solo and collaborative recitals. Angela is thrilled to be joining Ferrell Studios to help the next generation of performers develop skills and gain confidence in their singing.

CHARLOTTE FRANCIS:
I am a professional singer in NYC, having just graduated from Columbia University with an MFA in acting ‘23, and Wellesley College ‘19 with a degree in music. I have trained, and continue to train with the top acting and singing professionals in the business. I am currently a student of Mary Setrakian and Liz Caplan's studios and am represented by Atlas Artists.
Homework Offered
While no formal "homework" will be assigned, students are encouraged to find some practice time in between lessons to continue developing their skills.
Assessments Offered
I will provide real-time feedback, highlighting both areas of strength and areas for improvement. Students will have the chance to apply the feedback immediately, repeating specific sections of the song as needed.
