1:1 Personalized Tutoring in Reading, Writing, or Math (K, 1st, & 2nd Grade)
This ongoing tutoring class is individualized to the learner. Parents may request skills to be taught or I will assess needs, if preferred. I will engage the student in lessons with games, movement, and short interactive presentations.
Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 2
This is a one-on-one tutoring class that will be personalized to the needs of the learner. The parent may request specific skills to be taught and practiced, or may request that I give a short informal assessment to determine which areas should be given extra support. Reading skills may include letter recognition, phonics, phonemic awareness, decoding (such as CVC words), fluency, comprehension, spelling, grammar, writing, or other literacy skills. I have 25+ years experience teaching and tutoring students at the elementary level. I am a licensed/certified teacher with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.
Homework Offered
Practice will be provided for the learner in many cases, but not required. Activity sheets may be provided for the learner to continue practice and encourage confidence. I will review for correctness if submitted before the next session.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Informal assessments will be conducted in class periodically to determine if the student is understanding and mastering the skills.Grades Offered
There will be activity sheets available, if you have a printer. Students may need paper, pencil, or crayons depending on the skills being covered.
